The Singel Flower Market is the world’s only floating flower market which has existed since 1862. The market consists of a row of flower selling stalls floating on barges on the Singel Canal located in the heart of Amsterdam. 

The Singel Flower Market will take back the roots of the original flower market, providing an authentic Dutch experience with a twist of modernity to fit the contemporary lifestyle of the city.

Amsterdam has struggled to cope with a tourist boom.  In 2019, the last standing florist closed his stall due to the wave of tourists hovering around his stall taking pictures and making it difficult to serve genuine clients. The 16 stalls at the floating market are now dominated by vendors selling clogs, magnets, young cannabis plants, wooden and plastic tulips and bulbs.
